FAYETTEVILLE –The Sheridan senior high track teams performed well at the state indoor track meet on Saturday, with the girls placing third in Class 5A and boys finishing fourth in 5A. The meet was held at the Tyson Indoor Track Facility at the University of Arkansas.
Four Yellowjacket athletes won state titles – Aaron Webb in the 200-meter and 400-meter dash (second in the 60-meter), Skylar Sterritt in the 60-meter and 200-meter (second in the high jump and fourth in the long jump), Sophia Allen in the pole vault (fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump), and Kelsey Rieman in the high jump.
Several school records for indoor track were also broken. Webb set the boys’ school record in the 60-meter (7.00), 200-meter (21.81), and 400-meter (49.42). Hunter Sredin set the record in 60-meter hurdles (9.31). Sredin, Koen Wise, Nathan Uptagrafft and Colten Hansen set a new 4X400m relay mark (3:47.25). Bella Norman set a new girls’ school record for the 1600-meter run (5:55.44) and 3200-meter run (12:56).
