The Sheridan varsity boys' soccer team saved the best for last. The Yellowjackets took care of business Friday night, beating Texarkana 5-1 on Senior Night. Jordan Vang scored two goals, while Javone Mims, Jayden Beeson, and Caleb Harrison each scored a goal for Sheridan. It was a great way to close out the season! Way to go, Jackets! In honor of mental health awareness week, the Sheridan School District would like to thank our school-based mental health professionals who support the students in our school.
Please join us Monday, May 6 for the Sheridan Middle School Art Show, hosted by art teachers Mrs. Whitmire, Mrs. Harmon-Sharp and Coach J! The doors of the Fine Arts wing at SMS will be open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on May 6. Take a stroll down the Fine Arts hallway at your leisure and view student artwork. Everyone is invited to attend: faculty, staff, students, parents, family and friends. Please come and help us honor the hard work and growth of our talented artists! (Students with artwork on display will be notified by their art teacher.)
Mrs. Todd's class would like to thank Shelby Taylor Trucking and Trayvis Todd for a hands-on learning experience about the importance of reforestation and protecting the environment we live in. A lot of eager little students are ready to learn more about Natural Resource Management and Forestry.
Also, a big thank you to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and ArborGen nursery. The students were excited about being able to take home both a hardwood and a pine tree to plant.
The Yellowjacket softball and baseball games scheduled against Texarkana at home have been cancelled due to field conditions. Instead, Sheridan will play softball and baseball at Hot Springs tonight. The softball Senior Night activities will be held on Tuesday, May 7.

The Sheridan High School choirs performed their Spring Concert last night at McKenzie Hall. They performed their competition songs and a few added fun songs to end the school year.
May 3 is national School Lunch Hero Day, which provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to our students. School Lunch Heroes are the ZEST! 🍋 To celebrate #SchoolLunchHeroDay, let's give a shout-out to all our heroes in the Sheridan School District sharing their passion, and making cafeterias a happy place for our students!
The Sheridan High School Class of 2024 will hold its Signing Day ceremony on Tuesday, May 7 at Yellowjacket Arena. Parents are invited and will need to enter through the arena doors and sign in at the arena lobby. Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. for guests to sign in, and the event starts at approximately 9:00 a.m.
This event is for all Sheridan seniors with plans to go to college, trade school, military, workforce, etc., after graduation. Let's support our graduating Yellowjacket seniors!

The Sheridan JV boys' soccer team dropped a rough match 4-0 against Benton. The Yellowjacket varsity boys played hard and battled, losing to Benton 1-0. The Panthers went up 1-0 in the first half. The Jacket defense stepped up and held Benton scoreless in the second half. Sheridan had multiple opportunities to score but just couldn’t find that back of the net. Friday is Senior Night against Texarkana. Games start with JV boys playing at 4:00 followed by varsity girls and then varsity boys.

The Lady Jackets beat Benton 8-1 yesterday to improve to 24-2 overall and 15-0 in conference play. Sheridan closes out the regular season with Senior Night on Friday at home against Texarkana.

The Junior Blue Squad of the Sheridan Trap team won third place in the YSS regional tournament on Friday, April 26. They will be competing in the YSS state tournament on May 31.
